I love dual meets.
It was a dual meet that first introduced me to wrestling back in 1995 and it was a dual meet tournament that got me addicted to the sport just a few days later.
A few weeks back, I wrote about the personal relationships in this blog and how my wrestling club’s tournament, the Virginia Duals, shaped those relationships.
I’m torn from a wrestling fan’s standpoint, I’m also torn from a general sports fan perspective. On Saturday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, wrestling had an opportunity to capitalize on the Cinderella type of story with Lehigh and Cornell knocking off higher-ranked opponents from the Big Ten in the quarterfinals of the EAS Sports Nutrition/NWCA National Duals.
