Remembering the late Joe Boone, former PWA coach, who passed away in late 2021. Joe was a state wrestling champion at famed Granby High School before wrestling at Oklahoma. At OU, Joe wrestled in the 1971 and 1972 NCAA championships. Joe was a head wrestling coach at the University of Tennessee and countless high school programs. He made his mark on the high school and club level with a thunderous presence in his home state of Virginia, coaching at nearly a dozen high schools, including, but not limited to: Cox, Poquoson, Churchland, Granby, Gloucester and Lafayette. He coached at the Peninsula Wrestling Association, the club that hosts the Virginia Duals. Here are some words from his pupils and friends.
