 Two wins in three duals was a strong start to the season for American University wrestling, particularly after a young team earned just one dual win all of last season.

Maryland wrestling swept its season-opening quad meet on Saturday, completing the trifecta with a 29-10 win over American University. The Terps also defeated Bloomsburg (37-6) on Saturday morning and Duke (37-0) earlier in the afternoon to secure a 3-0 start to the 2022-23 season.

Air Force managed to kick-off its 2022-23 campaign in solid style, defeating Western Colorado 29-18 at Clune Arena.

No. 14 Iowa State took eight of 10 matches, including six against top 15 opponents, to defeat No. 12 Wisconsin Saturday night inside Swisher Gymnasium. The Cyclones went 3-0 on the day to win the Battle in the River City, capped by a 26-6 victory over the Badgers.

No. 3-ranked 143-pounder Katie Lange (SO, Sherburn, Minn./Martin County West HS) claimed an individual title, one of 10 Augsburg University women's wrestlers to claim top-six individual finishes, as the Auggies opened their season at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Pointer Open on Saturday.

#3 Mavericks Pick Up Two Wins on Season Opening Night – Colorado Mesa University Athletics

The No. 3 Colorado Mesa women's wrestling team ran their dual match win streak to seven as they defeated both Chadron State and Texas Woman's to open the 2022-23 season on Friday (Nov. 4) evening in Brownson Arena.
