USA Wrestling | Welker tags in at 76 kg for U.S. women at Pan American Games 

2021 U20 World champion and three-time age-group World medalist Kylie Welker (Franksville, Wisconsin/Titan Mercury WC/Iowa Women’s WC) is the latest addition to the U.S. wrestling lineup for the upcoming Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile.

U23 World Championships

USA Wrestling | U.S. concludes action at U23 World Championships in Albania 

The United States concluded action at the U23 World Championships in Tirana, Albania, Sunday night. On the final day of competition, two athletes wrestled in repechage matches, in hopes of advancing and winning a World bronze medal.

Assetuly wins Kazakhstan's first U23 world title | United World Wrestling  

This year keeps getting better for Kazakhstan wrestling. A month after the country got its first Freestyle senior world champion in Belgrade, Sultan ASSETULY (KAZ) on Saturday became the first wrestler from his country to win the U23 World Championships.

U23 Worlds: Motivated Hlinchuk makes golden return | United World Wrestling  

The last two years have been extremely difficult for Pavel HLINCHUK (AIN). With no international wrestling for him, the 21-year-old felt like moving away from the sport. The death of his first coach six months ago and then the passing of his uncle troubled Hlinchuk emotionally.

2023-24 Penn State Preview – Big 10 – Intermat  

Penn State has been ruling the wrestling world for quite some time now. Year after year they’ve put multiple guys in the finals and on the podium. Just last season half of the finalists had the crowd chanting “We Are”. And with the way their lineup looks again this season, it could be another race for second place behind the perennial powerhouse in Kansas City, MO at the T-Mobile Center.

2023-24 Ohio State Preview – Big 10 – Intermat  

The Ohio State University has been as consistent a presence at the top of the NCAA rankings as they come. Since winning the NCAA Team Title in 2015, they have placed 3rd, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, Canceled, 9th, 13th, and last season they placed 4th.

2023-24 Northwestern Preview – Big 10 – Intermat  

Coach Matt Storniolo has brought in some new faces to help lead this year’s team. BJ Futrell and Justin Oliver have joined Storniolo on staff this year and are already making an impact on the squad in the short time they’ve been there.

Wrestling Completes Annual Boilermaker Wrestle Offs – Purdue Boilermakers  

Purdue Wrestling saw its first action of the 2023-24 season in their annual intrasquad scrimmage Saturday night in the Boilermaker Wrestle Offs. The event held in Holloway Gymnasium included 19 matches between 25 different wrestlers with 11 of the wins coming with bonus points. 

Green tops Black in annual Green and Black Match – Utah Valley University Athletics  

Utah Valley wrestling held their annual Green and Black match, with the Green topping Black 31-19 inside the Lockhart Arena.

Bronze Tops Blue In Intrasquad Dual – University of Central Oklahoma Athletics  

Dylan Brown, Zane Coleman and Garrett Wells all registered bonus-point wins to power the Bronze team to a 26-23 win over the Blue in Central Oklahoma's intrasquad dual Sunday afternoon at Hamilton Field House.

Golden Knights Hold Successful Maroon & Gold Wrestle-offs – Gannon University Athletics  

Gannon men's wrestling head coach Tom Boyd had his first opportunity to see his 2023-24 Golden Knights in a competitive setting for the first time on Saturday. Gannon held its annual Maroon & Golde Wrestle-offs on Saturday at the Recreation and Wellness Center.

NAIA News

Two First-Place Finishers Highlight Wrestling's Season Opener – Northwestern College Athletics  

Northwestern finished with the highest winning percentage among the 13 teams at the York Open, including four Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) squads. Johnny Burnette and Cole Rutter both won their first collegiate tournaments, with 11 Raider wrestlers finishing in the top-six of their respective brackets.

USA Wrestling | Rayome named Brian Keck Preseason Nationals girls high school Outstanding Wrestler during exciting finals 

Many of the nation’s best girls high school wrestlers came out to test themselves at the Brian Keck Memorial Preseason Nationals. While a number of weight classes were won by well-established national stars, some of the champions used this event to make a name for themselves.
