Menlo College is a small, business-minded school in California's Silicon Valley. Joey Bareng is a native Hawaiian who found himself ready to coach. Six years ago, Bareng took over at Menlo and the slow process of building the women's program from the bottom to the top began. That process came to a head on February 9 as Menlo won the school's first national title in any sport as the Oaks won the WCWA championship and crowned three individual winners.

On Episode 494 of the Short Time Wrestling Podcast, Bareng will talk about his beginnings in Hawaii, wrestling at San Francisco State and jumping right into coaching. Bareng coached Alleida Martinez, Gracie Figueroa and Solin Piearcy to national titles this season, the first national champs in Menlo's history that weren't named Fulp-Allen.

What's the future look like for the school of barely 750 students? What about the growth of women's wrestling and the recruiting grounds in California that he's finally been able to pluck talent?
