Nov. 16, 2022, Terry sent out an update email, declaring that the Board of Trustees concluded UIndy will remain in Division II athletics. Terry said many factors came into play when figuring out this decision, but the high level of talent in the athletic programs was not an issue.

Illinois Wesleyan Announces Return of Wrestling – Illinois Wesleyan University Athletics
Illinois Wesleyan University Athletic Director Mike Wagner announced the addition of men's and women's wrestling, which will bring IWU's athletic offerings to 26 programs in the 2023-24 academic year. Both programs will compete inside the Shirk Center, with a search for a practice facility ongoing.

Dakota Wesleyan men's wrestling posted a strong two duels Tuesday evening. The Tigers were evenly matched against the Bulldogs of Concordia in their first of two duals despite dropping the match 22-17. DWU bounced back in their final matches of the evening with a big 43-3 win over the Broncos of Hastings.
